Flower Readings and Floral Mapping: Two Ways to Work with Bach Flower Essences
Alongside the standard Flower Essence Consultation, Prismatic Flower Essences offers two distinctive ways to work with the Bach flower essences: a flower reading and floral mapping. They use different methods, produce different things and answer different questions.
Flower Readings: The 38 Bach Flower Cards
A flower reading is a card based session where you and Rev. Michael work with the 38 Bach flower cards. The cards are drawn to identify which flower essences match what you are working through right now, and they become your personal blueprint for the session.
What makes a flower reading special is that you are actively involved in the process. You help choose the cards, you see which essences are calling to you and you participate in creating your own custom remedy. You leave the session with a Bach flower blend made specifically for you, designed to support you for the weeks ahead.
This is an excellent starting point for anyone who wants to engage with flower essences in a hands on way. Rather than having someone choose for you, you are part of the selection process, guided by Rev. Michael and by the cards themselves.
Who a Flower Reading Suits
People who are curious about flower essences but want to be involved in the process. People who respond to intuitive, visual tools. People who want a single sitting that produces something they can work with immediately. And people who enjoy the experience of discovering which essences are drawn to them as much as the remedy itself.
Floral Mapping: Dietmar Krämer Body Maps and Body Cream
Floral mapping takes a different approach entirely. It uses Dietmar Krämer's body maps, a method developed by the German naturopath and published in his work on Bach flower therapy. The maps identify where in the body emotional pain and blockages are stored, connecting specific physical areas to specific Bach flower essences.
Rev. Michael reads the Krämer body map with you, identifies where old emotional pains and blockages are held and selects the indicated Bach flower essences from the full set of 38. Those essences are then blended into a custom body cream that you apply at home to the specific areas identified in the mapping.
The body cream is the distinguishing feature of floral mapping. Rather than taking drops under the tongue, you apply the remedy directly to the area of the body where the emotional blockage is stored. This is a targeted, physical way to work with the essences that many people find deeply effective.
Who Floral Mapping Suits
People who carry tension, pain or discomfort in specific parts of their body. People who have tried other approaches and feel there is something stored physically that has not been addressed. People who respond well to working with the body directly rather than only through conversation or internal reflection. And people who want a practice they can continue at home between sessions.
Choosing Between Them
A flower reading works from what is present emotionally right now, using the cards to find it and producing a custom blend you take internally. Floral mapping works from where things are stored physically, using the Krämer body maps to find them and producing a body cream you apply externally.
If you are not sure which one fits, the honest answer is to start with whichever one you are drawn to. Both lead somewhere real, and it is common for people to try one and then come back for the other.
The Standard Consultation
The standard consultation is the most direct of the three. You describe your situation, Rev. Michael chooses essences for it. It suits people who already know what they want to work on. The intuitive consultation is the fourth option, for when you cannot yet put words to what is present.
If you are still undecided, reach out and let the right one be suggested.
